What is ATRA?

The relationships and consensus built during the first two adventure conferences in Scotland - in 2012 and 2013 - led directly to the creation of the Adventure Tourism Research Association.

ATRA seeks to bring together an academic and practitioner community around core areas of interest in adventure tourism and outdoor recreation. The aim is to create and sustain a forum for the creation and dissemination of research into adventure tourism: its key dimension is the dynamic between theorists and practitioners (academics, managers and guides) which is crucial to keeping the research productivity cutting-edge and relevant.
